The Train Ride
The day began on the train, and to my surprise, it was pleasant. I leaned into podcasts — first the Sean Reiner show with Chris, the ex-SAS soldier, then an episode with AJ Gentile. One long journey flowed into the next, stories of discipline and challenge pulling me back to the thought: when will it be my time to speak, to put my work fully into the world?
The pull is there. But not yet. The time hasn’t arrived.
Arrival in Colombo
I stepped into Colombo and found myself at a restaurant called Grind — a Western-style café with simple, comforting food. It felt like a pause before the next leg.
Soon after, I boarded the express bus. What was meant to be two hours stretched into nearly four. Cramped at the front with my bag pressing against me, I felt the strain.
I listened to podcasts again, doing my best not to plant seeds of frustration or anger. But it was a challenge. Sometimes the lesson is not in escaping discomfort but in meeting it.
Return and the Evening Flow
A tuk-tuk carried me the last stretch from Galle. Finally home, I made food, then went for a walk, still listening to podcasts, letting them carry me forward.
Evening brought a reminder — the light activation session with Annalie and the team. I’d forgotten the time, thought it was later. A fresh cup of tea in hand, teeth brushed, body tired — I prepared to show up anyway. To support. To stay in presence even when weary.
Closing Note
The day was long, full of movement, podcasts, and lessons in patience. Travel has a way of testing discipline, showing how fragile presence can be when comfort is stripped away. But even then, the path is clear: to return, again and again, to presence.
